Since Typhoon Ketsana (2009), which killed more than 400 people, Christian Aid has been working with communities and non-governmental organisations on the Marikina River to share expertise. By exchanging knowledge and skills around disaster risk reduction (DRR) work, climate change, livelihoods, land rights and advocacy, these communities are now much better placed to respond to the problems and disasters they regularly face.
