Fear of looting or eviction from ‘borrowed’ land makes many nervous to leave their homes until the last possible moment. Search and rescue teams - trained by Christian Aid’s partner Centre for Disaster Preparedness - are often called upon to rescue those who get stuck while protecting their property.
